I recently completed Budokon Yoga 50 hour Teacher Training. It was 5 days filled with fluid movement, intense physical practise and mind-body science inquiry sessions. But first and foremost, it was real privilege to meet in person and learn from the Budokon’s founder, Cameron Shayne and his wife Melayne – two extremely inspiring individuals.
So what is Budokon?
Budokon is the globally renown mixed movement arts system which integrates Martial Arts, Yoga, Calisthenics and Animal Locomotion, known also as BDK. Budokon was created in 2001 by Cameron Shayne, who is considered the father of the mixed movement arts culture. The system is globally established with over 1000 teachers worldwide.
Some glimpses from the training
Main objective for my 50-hr TT was Budokon Yoga Primary Series. This series consists of 7 intelligently assembled sections of slow and controlled movements designed to improve mobility, agility, flexibility and strength. The techniques are learned through repetition and precision, the emphasis being on the transitions from posture to posture, rather than the holding of postures.
